This neolithic barrow is also known as the Pixie’s Mound. A ploughman on his way to work noticed a broken peel on the barrow; a peel is a wooden shovel for baking cakes. He stopped and mended the peel, placing it back on the barrow. On returning from work, he noticed that the peel had gone, and in its place was a freshly baked cake from a grateful fairy. Apparently the man and his family had good luck the rest of their lives.
