Spinsters' Rock

Spinster's Rock

A megalithic tomb that dates from the late neolithic period sits in a bit of farmland, exposed from it's original state over five thousand years ago.  Legend has it that three spinster's went and raised the rocks one morning before breakfast.

Another legend is that three sons with their father took the stones form the highest point in Dartmoor and erected them there, but this story is less well known and infrequently told.
